Signage and stands built by people who weld them themselves

Bonustrellis has been cutting, folding and wiring illuminated shopfront signage and exhibition stands out of our Bath Lane workshop since 2009. Nothing leaves the building until the foreman who built it has signed off on it.

Illuminated signage

Lightboxes that still read cleanly after eleven summers

We use cast acrylic, IP67 LED modules and breather membranes on every illuminated build. It costs a little more up front and saves you a service call in year three. Ask us what your current sign supplier is using.

Trade show builds

Exhibition stands that bump in on time, every time

Modular frames, numbered flight cases and our own crew on the show floor. Clients who reuse a Bonustrellis frame typically save around forty percent on the second outing.

Who we are

A fabrication shop first, a signage company second

Bonustrellis started with one welder and a brake press in a Bendigo lock-up. Fifteen years later we run a full fabrication floor with CNC routing, MIG welding, in-house powder coating and an LED bench that every illuminated build has to pass before it leaves the building.

We don't outsource the difficult parts. When your sign needs a custom return fold or your stand needs a rigging point exactly where the venue will allow it, that decision gets made by the same people who then cut and weld the metal. That's the entire reason our builds last as long as they do.

We keep the range tight so the craft stays sharp. Illuminated retail signage and exhibition stands are what we do, and we do them from first drawing to final bolt.

Retail Signage Fabrication

Why clients stay

Four reasons our jobs outlast the ones that went cheap

Every one of these is boring, expensive to do properly and completely invisible on a quote. They are also the reason our lightboxes are still lit eleven years later and our stands still get reused five shows in.

Built for Australian heat

Constant-current LED drivers and cast acrylic faces, both bench-tested for four hours before the enclosure closes. If a driver is going to fail it fails in our workshop, not above your door.

Condensation handled

Gore-style breather membranes and continuous gaskets on every illuminated build. Adds eight dollars to the cost and saves a service call in year three.

Site-measured, not guessed

We visit, photograph and note the wall substrate before anything gets cut. Fixings are chosen for your actual brick, tilt-slab or heritage render, not a generic default.

Written warranty, real terms

Five years on structure and coating, two years on LED modules and drivers, twelve months on stand frames. When a module dies in month eight we come back and swap it.

Inside the workshop

Capability most signage companies don't have in-house

We bought the machines because subcontracting them out meant waiting weeks for a colour match and losing control of quality. Now colour, fit and finish all stay behind our own door.

3-axis CNC routing

Acrylic and composite faces cut to drawing, then edge-polished so lighting reads evenly across the whole panel.

MIG welding bay

Aluminium frames and letter returns welded and tacked by hand. If it flexes when you press it, we don't ship it.

In-house powder coat

Degrease, etch, spray and bake at 200°C on site. Colour-matching to RAL or your brand guide without a third-party queue.

LED bench and test

IP67 modules, constant-current drivers and a four-hour burn-in on every run before the lightbox gets sealed.

How a job runs

From your photo of the facade to the day the sign goes up

Six stages, each one ended with a document you sign off. Nothing gets cut until you've seen the drawings, and no surprise line items appear on the invoice.

01

Brief and site visit

Send a photo or address and we'll come measure. Wall material, setbacks, power access and any heritage overlays all go into the job file on day one.

02

Drawings and fixed quote

CAD elevations and section details issued as a PDF proof with a material schedule. Price locks when you sign, before any metal moves.

03

Fabrication and finishing

Metal cut, folded, welded and powder-coated. Faces routed and polished. Every part numbered against the crate diagram.

04

Wiring and burn-in test

Drivers, modules and cabling fitted, then run for four hours on the bench. A dud driver gets caught here, not on your wall.

05

Transport and install

Crated, shipped and bolted up by a licensed installer. Where possible we work around your trading hours so the scaffolding isn't in the way.

06

Handover and warranty

As-built drawings, electrical certificate, LED schedule and a service logbook for future module swaps. All signed, all digital.

What people say

Straight feedback from shop owners and exhibitors

No marketing copy here — these are the words clients put in their own reviews.

Our previous lightbox yellowed within three years. The Bonustrellis build has been up for close to a decade now and the logo still reads sharp at night. They actually explained why the cheap one failed.

Bump-in was on the allocated hour and the stand was rebuilt before lunch. Second show with the same frame and we changed the skins in under an hour. Whoever designed the numbered cases deserves a beer.

They arrived with a proper site kit, measured against the actual render, and came back three weeks later with a sign that fit on the first lift. Fixed price, no drama. Genuinely rare in this trade.
